Big Things Goin Down...

 

 

 

New year, new stuff, new goals. Out with the old and in with the new right? We are pumped up for a KILLER 2012 and are hard at work updating the site and working on some new features to the site which we will be rolling out this coming week.

 

In addition to updates to the usual suspects, interviews, live reviews, reviews in general, blah, blah, blah, we have some cool new regular features we are excited about, including some stuff from a few well known friends that will be bringing a little NEW spice to the party! In addition, we are working on a new section which will focus on tools and info for all you up and coming bands, BANDOLOGY 101. Lots of stuff on the ins and outs from the vets and pros to help give you some insight into how this music thing REALLY works. Plus we have some awesome new features for all you bands to get into the mix and help get yerselves and yer music in front of some new eyes and ears. So check back this coming for more! In the meantime....

 

 

NEW MUSIC AVALANCHE DOWNLOAD CARD - COMING DOWN TO THE WIRE!

 

Well, like the name of the card says, avalanche and that's exactly what we hit, an avalanche of road blocks! With some hiccups in production and a few bands not being able to come through for various reasons, we had to push the release of the card just a bit. But, as they say, things happen for a reason right?

 

We got stuff figured out and rolling right, with that in the mix we are now looking to have this bad boy out and on the slopes in February! As previously mentioned, it will be available for FREE with every lift ticket purchase at Mountain High and at all California Wahoo's locations while supplies last! Not only will this card feature the best up and coming signed and unsigned acts from across the globe but will also incluse some huge name acts that we know you know and love! As if that weren't awesome enough, we will be donating a portion of proceeds to help Music Saves Lives (www.musicsaveslives.org) a non-profit organization with focused efforts on blood donation and the bone marrow registry.

 

As we mentioned, we have a few slots that have openned up and quite frankly their loss is YOUR band's gain! We are looking for a few good solid bands to close out this project as well as for some of our upcoming projects. Call us direct at (323) 902-7568 and we will fill you in on all the details! BATTLE OF THE BANDS!

 

 

Our good friends at Rembrandt's Lounge in Placentia, CA are gearing up for their first ever BATTLE OF THE BANDS! We are helping spread the word to help them line up some amazing bands to set the joint on its ear! Here's the low down from the crew:

Rembrandt's is hosting its first battle of the bands. We are looking for 8 bands to compete for a chance to win 1,000$ in cash prizes. The competition will be start January 30th with the finals being on Thursday night March 22nd. Audience participation will win you the contest (the more friends you bring the better chance you have to win).

 

S.L.A.M.! Scene will be there covering the shows and bringing you the winners as well as providing the winning band with a feature in S.L.A.M.! Scene and a slot on one of our upcoming new music download cards!

 

The first round is starting this coming week, but there is STILL time to get into the action! This is not some pay to play or some other kinda B.S.! This is the real deal, just like Rems! Rembrandt's has been a HUGE supporter of S.L.A.M.! Scene since the start, playing host to many of our shows and events and not to mention it is one kick ass spot to hang out, grab and drink and some grub and have an all around KILLER time!
