Summary: A remarkable recording from Glenn Miller’s Carnegie Hall Concert back in 1939 on October 6. It is amazing to me how listening to a recording of the Glenn Miller orchestra one is able to recognize the band. Despite the fact that so many have covered the same music time and again, even to the untrained ear there is something hauntingly familiar about his work. Before the days of electronic musical manipulation, Mr. Miller was still able to put his own unique stamp on the music without the need to do something outrageous in the name of “art.”
